Mr. Asad Iqbal
Managing Director
Mr. Asad Iqbal received his Bachelors
of Science degree from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh PA and is
in the process of completing his graduate degree in Computational Finance
from Carnegie Mellon as well. Asad had worked on Wall Street from 1995 to
2002 in various capacities with the latest being as Vice President in
Equities for Goldman, Sachs & Co. At Goldman, Asad was responsible for
book building for all Goldman lead Equity and Convertible equity offerings
for their US clients. Asad worked on over a 100+ equity and convertible
dent offerings including some of most prominent deals such as the Goldman
Sachs and Accenture Initial Public Offerings and the AT&T secondary
offering.
Mr. Asad Iqbal started at Goldman Sachs
in 1995 as a programmer analyst in their International Trading group and
moved to their Equity Capital Markets desk where he led the creation,
development and deployment of their online IPO portal www.gsonline.com. In
October 2000, Asad moved to the Equity Sales desk focusing on sales and
book building of Equity and Debt offerings. In the December 2000, Asad was
promoted to Vice President in Equities and was given the additional
responsibility for sales of block deals as well single stock risk
management. In late 2002, Asad moved to Pakistan to join the family
business and started a software development company aimed at creating
customized solutions for the financial industry. Asad is now the Managing
Director of Ismail Iqbal Securities as well.
Mr. Muhammad M.
Ismail
Director
Mr. Muhammad M. Ismail has done his
B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Florida, USA in
1974. Thereafter, he took over as a Director in charge of Union Biscuits,
(one of the major manufacturers of biscuits and confectionery products in
Pakistan at the time ). Mr. Muhammad M. Ismail successfully looked after
all affairs of Union Biscuits until 1989, when he established Ismail
Industries Limited, the first major listed company in the confectionery
industry in Pakistan. As Chairman of the Board of Directors of the
company, he oversees all aspects of management including production, sales
and distribution, marketing, and expansion and acquisitions.
He is one of the most experienced and
qualified person in the confectionery industry in the country, well versed
with all the technical and managerial aspects of the business. He has laid
a solid foundation for the company, which has made a remarkable progress
as market leader and the largest exporter of confectionery products in
Pakistan.
Mr. Muhammad M. Ismail has traveled
extensively and is thoroughly familiar with the confectionery industry all
over the world. He has attended large number of exhibitions and trade
fairs all over the world on consumer products. He has been a member and
captain of Pakistan’s bridge team and is an avid golfer.
Mr. Maqsood Ismail
Director
Mr. Maqsood Ismail graduated from the
University of Delaware, USA in 1981, where he earned a B.S. degree in
Economics. He also qualified in the Central Superior Services (CSS)
competitive examinations of the Government of Pakistan, but preferred to
opt for business. He joined the family concern Union Biscuits and looked
after Finance, Government Affairs and Import Departments prior to the
setting up of Ismail Industries Limited. Being the Managing Director of
the company, he is responsible for Finance, Accounting and Corporate
Affairs of the organization.
Mr. Maqsood Ismail has also been the
Chairman of the Export Processing Zone, Government of Pakistan, on
honorary basis from 1996-1997 and again from 2002-2003. He was nominated
to this position as a representative of the business community. At present
he is a member of the Managing Committee of the Federation of the Chambers
of Commerce and Industry of Pakistan. He has also been a Chairman of Yarn
Merchants Association of Pakistan several times. Mr. Maqsood Ismail has
traveled all over the world, both for marketing the company’s products and
also as member of the various delegations of the Government, FPCCI, and
Export Promotion Bureau.
Mr. Miftah
Ismail
Director
Mr. Miftah Ismail is the Chief
Operating Officer and Director of Marketing & Sales. He has a Ph.D. in
Economics from the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania.
He has also worked as an Economist at the International Monetary Fund
(IMF) in 1992-1993. Since then he is working Ismail Industries Limited.
Mr. Miftah Ismail also looks after
Recruitment and Human Resources function in the company. In past few years
he has recruited and built a team of well qualified and highly motivated
personnel in the marketing, sales, export and production departments who
assists senior management in the decision making process. He has also
encouraged the introduction of new ideas to make Ismail Industries Limited
a truly modern firm with a professional management responding to the
demands of the market. He is very active in the social and cultural life
of Karachi.
